I also like the service I’m using now (micro.blog) because it makes it easier to POSE (Post Ojnce, Syndicate Everywhere). I hopefully will get my ass to do more short posts here. Congestion pricing: all you people who had a hard-on for it and got what you wanted better hold the scum you elected to their word. The MTA said we will all see massive and drastic improvements immediately, so I expect to see all trains and stations at Montreal or DC levels of cleanliness and aesthetic by next year
Yesterday my daughter and I opened up one of her gifts: a Playshifu reading and vocabulary game that hooks up to an iPad. Seeing her use it and understanding how it works almost made me cry. Cry in a way I was so happy to see her playing with something and (hopefully) learning. We have some of the Osmo playsets as well, but up until now it looked like they were gone.
I will write more later, but a couple of things: -Copilot is better than ChatGPT as far as I’m concerned -Starting to try to do projects in Python and SQL to make a portfolio in hopes to find a job in data analysis -petemarus.com may go away in the form it is now and become something new. -the month of December depresses me a lot, and I may look at therapy about it
My observations of various social media platforms: -X is the purest form of free speech once you get through the shitty ads in the feed. -Bluesky is less aggressive X, and just enough leftist complaining about how they hate how the real world works. Threads is if you take your most annoying friend or ex and made it into a social media feed. It’s just bitching and moaning to the point it’s not fun to be around.
One of the reasons the division is so deep in the country is how segregated people choose to be. I tell any kid looking at college to go to a school that’s located at the opposite environment you live in. I left NY and went to Penn State because I needed a change. It was the best move for my mind and personal feelings. Live outside where you are from and you learn empathy more and understanding that life isn’t supposed to be “one way” and there is several ways to live.
I’m also thinking of ditching SquareSpace and moving my domain to here, so I can post shorter things and syndicate them easier. I kind of fell off posting there, but maybe this will be a better option.
I am also thinking about how I have felt the last several days, where I feel like I am stupid, and how people treat me and talk to me as if I am are right. I feel lost and always angry. I feel like where I am is because I am stupid and somehow got lucky with a lot of things.
Feeling sad given the time of year. Staying home this Thanksgiving because daughter is sick. Thinking of how happy this time of year should be but isn’t. Lost a lot of family between now and Christmas over the years.
